Lettering with Smooch for Scrapbooking

Hi everyone, Kerry Engel here,  today I want to share with you a fun way to try out a simple mixed media look using ColorBox® Smooch ink. I ended up making this layout with my daughter, she has never used Smooch ink before and we both had fun coloring in the words and painted over the card stock.

Sparkle and Shine

Coloring with Smooch

I picked the fun black and white card stock from Simple Stories. The white words sort of yelled, “Color me!” I supplemented the stash with some paper that had patterns that lent themselves to enhancement with Smooch ink. I pulled together a stack of papers and then used the Smooch to highlight the colored stars, hearts, and splotches. Then I colored the words and grid paper.

Emboss with Smooch

My daughter helped with the title. She colored one letter at a time. She quickly covered the ink in ColorBox embossing power and heat set it. It made them really pop. I outlined the words in white ink and then drew little white lines on top of the large embossed letters in the title. It made them look like balloon letters.

I finished it off by painting little dots here and there. We love how it turned out…fun, shiny, artsy and youthful.
