Welcome everyone to National Scrapbooking Day, this is Cathie Allan! In celebration of this wonderful day, I created a layout using “one stamp pad”. The stamp pad that I chose to work with is the ColorBox® Classic Pigment Petal Point® Home ink pad and since my Top Boss stamp pad is a huge multi-tasker (and somehow it becomes involved in most of my projects AND it is “not” just for embossing), I used it too. EVERYTHING on this page has been altered using just these two stamp pads.
The background is what I am going to step out for you. It is easy, quick and fun. Of course …. If you are a card maker this background is perfect for a great card or (of course) an art journal page would be fun using these techniques.
Supplies for background:
- ColorBox® Classic Pigment Petal Point® Home ink pad
- Top Boss® Full Size Clear ink pad
- ColorBox® Art Screen® Burst
- ColorBox®Stylus Handle 3-pack
- ColorBox®Stylus Tip 3-pack Circle (any white tip really)
- ColorBox® Classic Pigment refill Black
- Cathie Allan Super Stock 12 x 12 cardstock
- Impression Obsession clear stamps: Mosaic Tile and Grunge Circles
- Wax Paper and Water Bottle
- Iron and Paper Towel
Step One: Position the “Burst” Art Screen® in the bottom center of the page, as shown. Ink a ColorBox® Stylus White Tip with the Dune color from the Home Petal Point®.Pounce the inked tip thru the screen. Repeat this step on either side with the Wheatgrass color, as shown. Add one partial Dune image on the right side so the colors alternate.
Step Two: Load another foam tip with ink from your Top Boss clear embossing pad. Smear excess ink in and around the images with the Top Boss inked tip. This blends the two pigment colors together beautifully. Using Top Boss ink allows you to achieve a dreamy blend of color without adding more ink. Of course, adding more ink is an option as well, in fact, I shaded all the images with the Antique Pewter ink.
Step Three: Place your photo where you want to see it on the page. Outline it, then remove. Ink the Mosaic Tile stamp with Stucco. Stamp your images as shown in the photo OR add more, you get to play with this to make it your own.
Step Four: Ink Grunge Circles stamp with Black than with Antique Pewter. Use the photo outline as a guide to keep in mind where you will be adding your photo. Iron with a hot dry iron to fully dry the pigment ink.
Step Five: Squeeze out a couple of drops of your black re-inker onto a piece of waxed paper. Add a spray of water and squish the ink with the second piece of waxed paper to form “splotches”. Add your splotches to your page. With the wax paper being transparent it is easy to see where you are adding this accent. Blot the splotches back with a paper towel and allow to dry OR encourage it to dry with your hot dry iron.
Va-Room! You are ready to go with a great background, embellish and style to your heart’s desire. Let us know what you think about this background in the comment section below.
HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!
