I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring. The plants around my house are beginning to peek through the soil. I have a couple of months until my garden will be in full bloom, so I’m looking for ways to inject some additional color into my landscape. I used ColoriQue and some metal and natural embellishments to create a colorful garden stake for my yard.
ColorBox® ColoriQue by Lisa Marie Jimenez – Honey Bee, Moss Landing, Pacific Ocean, Poppy, Turquoise Mountain
Walnut Hollow Basswood Country Round Coaster
Metal Embellishments – Leaf, Beetle
ColorBox® Mini Art Screen – Floral
ColorBox® Art Daubers
Alphabet Stamp Set
ColorBox® Archival Dye Ink by Stephanie Barnard – Licorice
Step 1: Use Art Daubers to apply ColoriQue over the Floral Mini Art Screen to add a leaf print to the wood slice. Mix and blend the colors to create a unique background pattern.
Step 2: Use Art Daubers to apply ColoriQue to metal embellishments. Mix and blend the color directly on the metal embellishments for a life-like finish. Set the metal piece aside to dry, or speed up drying time with a heat tool.
Step 3: Use a hot glue gun to attach the twig and metal embellishments to the wood slice. Designer Tip: Bend and shape the metal leaf before gluing to the wood slice for a more life-like look.
Step 4: Stamp a sentiment onto the wood slice using an alphabet stamp set and ColorBox Licorice Archival Dye Ink.
Step 5: Use a hot glue gun to attach a wood chopstick to the back of the wood slice. Display outside.
