Today I am sharing how to create a Faux Quilted Pillow using my Background Basics Stamps.
- Colorbox Crafter’s Ink by Ann Butler: Blueberry, Ocean Breeze, Sunshine, Lilac, Berry, Limelight, Aqua Marine, Evergreen, Sand, Canyon
- Background Basics by Ann Butler: Basket 1, Checks 1, Diamonds 2, Picnic 2
- Muslin, 14″ x 14″ (2)
- Warm and Natural Cotton Batting, 14″ x 14″
- Sewing machine
- Baby wipes
Stamp out the pattern onto one piece of muslin, as shown in the first photo. If you place the stamps right next to each other you will have a small space in-between the stamped pattern. If do not want the space, simply stamp one image, lift up the stamp and align the next stamp, repeat.
Iron to heat set.
Place the stamped fabric onto the batting…
Sew between each stamped pattern or desired.
Place the quilted pillow front on top of the 2nd piece of muslin. Then stitch around the outside edge, leaving a 3″ opening to turn. Trim, leaving a 1/2″ all around. Turn to the right side and fill with fiber-fil. Sew the opening closed.
Enjoy your Quick and Easy Faux Quilted Pillow.
Above is a Faux Quilted Pillow where I aligned all of the stamped images, Then sewed between the images and through them to create X’s in each pattern. I also added a button to the center.
You can create a table runner the same way as above, do it on Canvas and there is no need for batting.
The above hot pad was stamped with Crafter’s Ink in Blueberry and Ocean Breeze on unbleached muslin. Then, ironed to heat set. Batting and a backing was added, then I sewed between the blocks…and a binding was sewn on. Quick and Easy!
