Hello my peeps! It’s me, Donna Salazar. My girlies and I are taking over the Clearsnap blog this week. Today I’m sharing the watercolor with ink technique using Mix’d Media Inx that I shared on the Facebook Live video that I did on the Clearsnap Facebook Page on Thursday. Below the video you can see the stepped out photos for the card that I made with the elements I made in the video.

Here is the video:

And here is how I created the card shown at the beginning of this post:

I distressed the edges of the card then inked them with Mix’d Media Inx CHOX in Sparrow.

I burnished Twinkle Dust Glitter in Pralines & Cream into the adhesive on the back of the Lace Ribbon.

Then adhered the lace to the front of the card.

I splattered some Candle Glow Smooch Spritz onto the card and dried it with a heat gun.

I adhered the “watercolor” image to the card, detail cut a second image and added pieces of it behind the original image and onto the top corner. I tied a bow and added it to the card with some twine and flower stamens. I then stamped the word “Thankful” with Mix’d Media Inx Chox.

I inked around the edges of the stamped word strip with Hone Mix’d Media Inx to give it a vintage look.

I used the detail wand in the Emboss Gloss on the center rose and sprinkled clear fine embossing powder over the wet image. I removed the excess powder and returned it to the container then heat set the image. Because the medium goes on thick you may need to use a heat gun a little bit longer than usual BUT don’t get impatient and hold the heat too close or the embossing will bubble and you will lose some of the detail of the image.

This is what the final card looks like…

And here is a fancy close up photo of the card.

In this close up you can really see the peek-a-boo glittered lace as well as the layered Mix’d Media Inx watercolored images.

In most of the other photos it is hard to see the glossiness from the embossing on the card so I tilted the card slightly so you could see it better.

I am a wife, a mom, a grandma (to the cutest little boy that has ever walked the planet), an artist, a designer, an instructor, an overgrown kid, a total FOODIE, and I’m lucky enough to own my own Design company called Donna Salazar Designs, LLC.

I spend most of my days watching my grandson (my son’s family lives with us so I get to play with him EVERY day). We play, and cook, and have the very BEST time… I’m totally blessed to be able to be with him daily. And when I can, I sneak in some studio time to create one of my signature “Girlie Grunge” projects. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot more cooking and baking than crafting because I’ve become a Pampered Chef consultant… the whole family is LOVING the extra goodies.
