Christmas Card with Twinkle Dust Glitter

It’s Tracey Sabella here with the Donna Salazar Designs Creative Team here to share a Project with you. Christmas is just around the corner, and I’ve been busy making handcrafted cards for friends and family. Of course I just have to add loads of shimmer and sparkle with Donna’s Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter. I tried out a new techniqe to create my own custom glitter paper and have a quick DIY Technique Vide Tutorial to share with you.

Here’s that quick DIY Technique Video Tutorial showing how I created the glitter paper:

Here are some more close-ups and details:

I’ve acquired a couple old hymn books to use for my paper crafting. I pulled out one of the Christmas hymns to use for the ornament. (If you don’t have a hymnal, your can do a Google image search for Christmas Sheet Music to print your own music page.) Because the paper was so thin, I adhered it to a piece of white cardstock, then placed a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive adhesive sheet on top. I didn’t use the entire sheet, but just enough to cut out the ornament. I die cut a 3 1/4 inch circle then removed the top sheet to expose the adhesive. I sprinkled Sugar Shimmer Twinkle Dust Glitter over the adhesive topped circle and burnished the glitter into the adhesive. To view how I did this please view my video towards the top of this post.

For the flowers, I placed an adhesive sheet onto white cardstock. I removed the top sheet and burnished Twinkle Dust Glitter into the adhesive. Once this process is complete you will have a sheet of gorgeous shimmery glitter paper and the glitter stays put. Okay, it does leave sparkles during the application process, but once that’s done, the glitter really does stay on the paper. Now I die cut the flowers with the glitter side facing the die then rolled and formed the Bitty Blossom flowers like I normally do. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the shimmer on these blossoms is simply amazing.

See the snowflake tucked into the cluster? I took a 3D Foam Snowflake and sprinkled it with Donna’s Jasmine ColorBox Mix’ed Media Inx and heat embossed. I finished it off with a rhinestone.

The sentiment is stamped with Donna’s Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx and heat embossed with Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx Embossing Powder.  I added sparkling snow below the sentiment by dabbing the edges with Donna’s Clearsnap Emboss Gloss to adhere Jasmine Embossing Powder then heat embossed. Once it cooled down in a few short seconds, I dabbed Clearsnap Glue Gloss over the embossed area and sprinkled with Sugar Shimmer Twinkle Dust Glitter. I adore how these products work together to create a snowy effect.
