I happen to really enjoy being able to cut spending costs during the holiday gift-giving season! ColorBox® Pigment Petal Point Inks and a few other really inexpensive supplies have helped me do just that! With three kiddos, these type of easy, cost-saving projects become a real bonus! I created these super easy Christmas cards that took minimal effort to make. They are easily duplicated, and the design possibilities are endless!
I chose to use the fun and very versatile Petal Point Pigment Inks as watercolor as well as traditionally for stamping and embossing.
Beginning with a piece of watercolor paper (cut to size and folded), I lightly spritz the card base with water in the area I wish to apply ink. I used a paintbrush (direct to pad) to pick up some color from this very beautiful palette and created a watercolor background.
Once I’m happy with the background, I give it a few flicks from my paintbrush and heat set dry. It’ll look something like this; each background will likely be unique.
Now the card is ready for stamping! I picked a really simple design with the aid of our new 1″ Wood Mounted “Snowflake” Stamp and a greeting stamp (using the same Petal Point Pads!)! Once I’ve finished stamping my design, I cover with ColorBox® Clear Embossing Powder and heat set dry. I hope you didn’t blink because this card is finished!!
Like I said, these are easily duplicated and very cost and time effective. Are you ready to give this simple card-making idea a go? We would love for you to share your ideas on how to make holiday gift-giving easier too!
