How to Make a Day Of The Dead Banner – Doily Banner

The art and colors of The Day of the Dead holiday are so festive and vibrant. Same as the Marisa Pawelko Surfacez line of ink pads which makes them the perfect set to work with to make a doily banner. This Day of the Dead banner is colorful and easy to make!

The Day of The Dead or (Dia De Los Muerto) imagery includes skulls embellished with pretty black line art and lots of vibrant colors. To make some of my skulls I die cut a small and large skull and used them to reverse rubber stamp.

I put a tiny bit of Xyron tape on the back of the plastic skull shapes to help keep them in place while I dabbed on ink with a ColorBox Art Dauber. Then pulled off the plastic skull shape to reveal a white skull.

To make the black detail art I did a combination of rubber stamping with the flower from the My First ColorBox mini stamps set and the ClearSnap 3 inch wood mount Flourish stamp long with doodling with two sizes of black marker.

I could keep going and make many more of these and line my entire fence with these vibrant Day of the Dead doilies. The combinations of colors, skulls, and flowers are endless! So grab some of your doily stash and get your creative on!
