September Bohemian Color Challenge

by | September 1st, 2016 | 2

It may be the season of pumpkin spice but there are still a few warm days ahead. We puled from Pantone’s fall fashion forecast to bring you this bohemian inspired, relaxed color palette this month. Sharkskin greys and warm taupe meet airy blue and potter’s clay in this month’s color challenge.  Our SEPTEMBER Card Color Challenge is inspired by hot days in the desert with a cool breeze, signaling the coming winter. Make these colors come alive on your projects by using these coordinating colors in our ink catalog:

We’re really excited to share what our guest designers created for you this month but first, we have a new guest designer joining the Clearsnap Blog!

Introducing Jenn Shurkus:

Jenn lives on Cape Cod, with her kitty Mister Harley and her boyfriend Chris. She’s been papercrafting for over 15 years, and has played multiple roles in the paper craft industry as an independent store manager, designer and teacher.  Jenn loves to show people new and clever ideas to design their cards and projects. She has a flair for the “artsy-fartsy” without going over the top. She designs her projects in the way to inspire, but not intimidate. Jenn is eager to share her creative passions with others and encourage their artistic growth. She currently teaches in person and online classes as well as host Loft Art Retreats. You can read more about her, her handsome kitty Mister Harley and wicked cute boyfriend Chris on her blog {creative chick} as well as follow her creative endeavors on

Dream Journal by Rose Powell

Dream Journal Depth and Layers RPowell

For this “dream journal” it was all about creating the perception of depth and layers. When you start with a base of white gesso, you are able to create a “leak-proof barrier”, which makes for some amazing ink lifting techniques and drips when combined with water. For added interest use the Rollograph and Jumbo Design Wheel in Wordwords and clear emboss it to give the impression of hand-scripted dreams acrossed the journal page.

Back To School Projects

The school season is upon us and for every plain notebook and box of pencils I bring home I hear a groan from my children. I don’t blame them, plain notebooks are boring, unless you find a way to personalize them. Using label paper, screens, and inks we created customized school supplies for the new year.
