Beach Escape – July Color Challenge

by | July 1st, 2016 | 2

Tribal patterns and relaxed denim, navy,  metallics, and greys make this month’s color challenge unexpected and beachy.  Our JULY Color Challenge was inspired by early morning surf trips while the water and beach are still cool.

We’re really excited to share what our guest designers created for you this month but first, we have a new guest designer joining the Clearsnap Blog!

We’re so happy to introduce Erin Sipes!

Bullet Journaling with Stamps by Erin Sipes

Have you heard of bullet journaling? I was recently introduced to the concept and when I’m not wondering why I didn’t come up with this brilliant idea I’m creating and personalizing journal pages. Clearsnap’s new skinny wood mount stamps are perfect for adding a fun touch to this simple layout approach to planning.

DIY Shell Dish by Rose Powell

On our last beach trip my daughter found this large shallow sea shell. I wanted a fun way to display it, so I turned it into an embossed sea shell dish.

Using a Pigment: Colorbox® Full Size Inkpad in Royal Blue, Crafter’s Full Size Inkpad in Stone, a “sweet” Clearsnap® skinny-wood-mount-stampSmooch® Bottle in Dew and ColorBox® Embossing Powders in Opalescent Clear and Silver, I was able to create and use this embossed sea shell dish on my desk as a paper clip holder.  I absolutely loved how it turned out.

DIY Planner Cover by Chana Malkah Harris

Wow!  Fabulous colors  to work with for this month’s Color Challenge! I love the new ColorBox® 4-Color Premium Dye Ink Pads!  I use a lot of blues in my designs but these mini palettes have inspired me to experiment with new color combos and blending ideas.   Even better is the fact that it only takes two ColorBox®Stylus to use all four colors.  Imagine, no need to keep opening and closing ink pads!  That really works for messy crafters like me!

I decided to down-size my 2017 Design Team Projects Planner.  This 5-14″x7-1/4″ footprint will take up less space on my work board and in my purse.  The back of the planner is colored with ColorBox® Fluid Chalk Ink – Blackbird and can be used to make chalk notes.

I was very pleased with the “marble” design that resulted from blending the challenge colors through my ColorBox® Art Screen “Geometric.”  The marbling even shows through the decoupaged napkin, which is exactly what I hoped.  I wanted a clean, sophisticated, and fun look for this project.

We love the projects our partner designers have created and hope you are inspired as well. Now, let’s announce the winner of the JUNE 2016 Clearsnap Color Challenge: Andrea!
