“Beach Cottage Tote” by Chana Malkah Harris
My friend, Nicole, is moving to Tybee Island, Georgia. Her move to a new home inspired me to design this Beach House Toolbox. I created the brick facade by painting on a thin layer of gesso and using the direct to surface technique to apply ColorBox™”Mist” Archival Ink. . The window shades were made from non-woven cloth that I tinted with ColorBox® “Seaglass” Pigment Ink. I wanted texture in my window shade design so I crimped fabric and applied a light coat of the Crafter’s Desert Sand Ink to the raised areas.
An Artsy Beach House needs a snazzy floor. A piece of heavyweight chipboard covered with gesso and stenciled with the ColorBox™ Art Screen Starpoint© to apply the pattern.was the perfect solution. The floor panel is covered with transparent shelf lining to resist spills and splatters.
