Hi friends! Dana here today sharing how I added a cool pattern using ColorBox® Crafter’s Ink to a Walnut Hollow Rustic Tote to create a fun Diamond Stripe Wood Bottle Tote for my husband. My husband spends most of his time during grocery store trips in the beverage isle. I know when I bring him along on a shopping trip the grocery bill will be a lot higher, but no one will leave the store thirsty. With Father’s Day fast approaching, I thought a personal beverage carrier would make a great gift and will be something he can use all year long.
To create an eye-catching diamond design on the wood tote, use a pencil and a ruler to draw a diamond pattern onto the tote. To prepare the tote for ink application, use masking tape to section off areas for color.
Use an Art Dauber to apply ColorBox® Crafter’s Ink onto the wood tote. Dry the ink with a heat gun to permanently set the colored areas.
Add a diamond stripe in a contrasting color for added interest. Continue masking the tote and applying color until the design covers all sides of the tote. Note: I love the look of natural wood, so I didn’t completely cover this tote with ink.
There are over 2 dozen colors of ColorBox® Crafter’s Ink available, so mix and match the colors to create a design palette that works for you!
Screw a bottle opener to the side of the tote to finish.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to use ColorBox Crafter’s Ink on wood. We’d love to see how you use Clearsnap ink on your wood projects. Share your work in the I Heart Clearsnap Facebook group!
