Happy New Year Clearsnap fans! Dana here with you today sharing a peek inside my new journal. I purchased The 52 Lists Project journal and I am really excited to document more of myself this year. The last time I wrote in a journal was nearly 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. I’m great at recording the lives of my children, but rarely make the time to jot down my own thoughts. One of my goals this year is to write more about myself and this journal will be a helpful tool.
There is nothing more intimidating to me than a blank page. A plus for this particular journal, besides the fun journal prompts, is that it contains colorful pictures and images, which gives me a creative starting point. Take the first list for example (pictured above). The colorful leaves printed in the corners and the colored paragraph on the bottom of the second page was part of the journal. I loved the brushed watercolor feature and decided to recreate the look on my first list (left-hand page) to help highlight my goals for the year.
I used ColorBox® Pigment Ink by Teresa Collins and a water brush to add color to my list.
ColorBox® Pigment Ink works great for blending due to the slow drying feature of the ink.
Follow these simple steps to blend two colors of ColorBox® Pigment Ink:
- Apply ColorBox® Pigment Ink to separate sides of a stamp block or other slick surface.
- Use a water brush (or wet paintbrush) to blend the two colors of ink together using a slow circular motion. Darken or lighten the shade of the blended ink by pulling in more of one color into the blended pool of color.
- Fill the brush with ink and slowly brush across the paper to transfer the color. Dry the ink with a heat gun.
I thought it would be fun to use stamps and ink to add personality to my lists. I dressed up List 2 with ColorBox® Cat’s Eye® Chalk Ink in Splash.
The fast-drying formula of ColorBox® Chalk Ink is ideal for direct-to-paper-techniques, like stamping, and the small size of the Cat’s Eye® Ink Pads make them ideal for use when journaling on the go.
