Gift wrapping doesn’t have to be boring and mundane! I will admit, it’s not a favorite task of mine, but sometimes, if I’m looking to break the monotony of wrapping, I pull out my ColorBox® supplies and jazz it up a bit! I did just that using ColorBox® Metallic Pigment Ink and ColorBox® Sparkling Embossing Powder to create this gorgeous embossed DIY gift wrap:
This technique took very little time and super easy to achieve. I have been playing around with masking tape and inks lately, so I thought I would give it a try with the gift wrap.
I began by wrapping the gift with kraft paper; it’s easier to align the masking tape around the box form. Without measuring, I created stripes with the masking tape-masking off the areas I did not want inked.
Using a ColorBox® Art Dauber, I applied Gold Metallic Ink to the exposed areas between the masking tape; for the larger area at the top, I gently pressed my ink pad onto the paper until I had complete coverage.
Once I completed inking the paper, I coated the inked areas completely with gold Sparkling Embossing Powder which adds just a touch of bling without going overboard!
I repeated the same process for the other end of the box. Once the embossing had cooled, I carefully removed all masking tape and this is the end result!
All that’s left is to add a ribbon, tag, and an ornamental berry branch. You could even substitute the branch for a fresh sprig.
Are you brave enough to break the monotony of wrapping? I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick and easy tip! Please stay tuned for more fabulous gift wrap ideas from our Creative Team!
