If I’m ever in a creative rut or my mojo decides to take a vacation (this happens often!), I tend to whip out a tag and start applying color or stamping to get the creative juices flowing. This tag started out that very way! I grabbed a couple of bottles of Aladine Izink Inks and ColorBox® Archival Dye Inks and just started having fun!
I began by priming the tag with a layer of gesso; this helps with absorption and allows more time to play with the inks. Once the gesso dried, I randomly stamped text to the background using ColorBox® Archival Dye Ink in “Seattle Sky and Wicked Black.” I’ve said it before, but it’s worth mentioning again, I love using the Archival Dye Inks in mixed-media because no matter what medium I apply thereafter, the images aren’t going anywhere! With such a large array of colors in these inks, you can’t go wrong with this stash staple! I stamped the camera stamp using “Wicked Black” overlapping the images to create depth and visual interest. After a quick blast of the heat gun, I applied water diluted Izink Inks in “Topaz and Safran.” Once the inks were dried, I finished off the tag with a little gesso and word stickers!
Go ahead, grab a tag and get those creative juices flowing! Thanks for stopping by!
