Tami Sanders here with your card sketch for May as well as a sample card made using the sketch.

Each month, usually on the 13th, I’ll be sharing a card sketch with you as well as tips and techniques using inks and more from Clearsnap to utilize in your card making.

Here is May’s sketch (click sketch to enlarge)…

And here is the sample card I made using the sketch…

The card base was made with cream cardstock and the large mat is a pale aqua printed paper. The diecut piece was made using aqua cardstock, then stamped with a swirl pattern using ColorBox® Alabaster Chalk Ink.

The sentiment was stamped using ColorBox® Doodlebug Pigment Ink in Swimming Pool on cream cardstock and then cut out. The same ink was applied using the ColorBox® Stylus & Tips to distress the edges of the printed paper.

Notice the difference between the portions inked using pigment inks – the sentiment and distressed edges of printed paper and those using chalk inks – the swirls on the diecut.

ColorBox® Pigment Inks are rich and dense and provide nice even coverage. ColorBox® Chalk Inks provide a pretty “powdery” finish and are not as opaque as the pigment ink.

Lace was used instead of paper for the vertical strip in the sketch. You could also use ribbon or washi tape. Flowers with pearl centers serve as the embellies to finish off the card.

About Tami Sanders

Ink, paper and glue are a few of my favorite things. I enjoy working with a variety of mediums, and don’t really have a set “style”; fresh, graphic or vintage, I like them all.  Likewise, I also find creating a variety of projects challenging. I design scrapbook pages, cards, mixed media projects, altered books, jewelry and more. I have taught scrapbooking and paper crafting classes locally as well as at regional and national conventions. Sharing the joy of inking and paper crafting feeds my creative soul. You can usually find me scouring estate sales and flea markets on the weekends hunting for unique tidbits and trinkets to use in my classes and for my projects. I'm excited to be rejoining the Clearsnap Design Team. I am fortunate to have worked with Clearsnap for over 10 years.
