Cookies: A Love Story Scrapbook Layout

Hi it’s Beth Pingry, I’m sharing a scrapbook page about my family’s favorite food, chocolate chip cookies. I’m a purist when it comes to good cookies, I like them homemade and fresh! This really a love story scrapbook page, and yes, it is about cookies:

Cookies, a love story by Beth Pingry

I documented the process recently, and while I’d love to share the cookies with you, they never last very long in my house! I’ll share how I made the page, will that work?

I started by spraying Colorbox® Spritzer in Golf Course on the teal cardstock.

Tip: the further you are from your paper, the more the spray ‘spreads’, get closer to get a more concentrated spray.

I trimmed down the cardstock to 11.5 x 11.5″, inked the edges, and mounted it to kraft cardstock, then added photo corners. Next I cropped and printed my photos. I like to ink edges to give a finished look. Just tap or drag the edges along an ink pad and allow to dry.

Next I trimmed the cardstock squares and rectangles, and inked them too. With a circle punch, I made 9 circles and inked them too. I glittered a 3D Foam Heart with Glitter – it’s easy – just remove the top liner, sprinkle some glitter on and rub it in.  Add it to the top of a circle.

To make the background behind the large cookie picture, I used two Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink colors (Lime Pastel and Ice Blue), Stylus and Tips and the Chevrons Colorbox Art Screen.

I aligned the Art Screen, and added Lime Pastel with a Stylus and Tip.

This was the result:

Then I moved the Chevrons so they would intersect and added Ice Blue.

Tip: Clean off the Art Screen so the inks don’t blend!

And the result:

Notice that I inked the edges of this piece, too. To finish the page I mounted the large photo and adhered the punched circles to its mat. I added letter stickers and hand wrote the journaling.

The colors on this scrapbook layout were inspired by our April Color Challenge collage:
