Tami Sanders here with your NEW! card sketch for April as well as a sample card made using the sketch.

Each month, usually on the 13th, I’ll be sharing a card sketch with you as well as tips and techniques using inks and more from Clearsnap to utilize in your card making.

Here is April’s sketch…

And here is the sample card I made using the sketch…

The card base was made with white cardstock. The banner and circle pieces were made by painting vintage book pages with Izink Inks first, then cutting or punching out the designs.

The “printed” paper was done using stencils, ColorBox Spritzers and Chalk Ink. First, the Kaleidoscope stencil was placed on a piece of white cardstock and spritzed using Lemon Drop ColorBox Spritzers. Once dry, the Parasols stencil design was added using Tangerine Chalk Ink applied using Stylus & Tips.

The swirl pattern was added to the card with a permanent black pen and the Swirldot stencil. The pen was also used to add the outline around the “printed” paper piece.

All paper pieces were distressed using Blackbird Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink to add a little definition. And the sentiment was stamped using the Blackbird Chalk Ink as well.

To add a little BliNg! tiny wood pieces were “foiled” using Adhesive Dots and Designer Foils. First, the dots were adhered to the tops of the wood pieces…

Then, the backing was removed from the dots and the wood pieces were placed dot side down on the back of the foil…

Turn the foil over and rub gently but thoroughly to transfer film to adhesive dot. Pull up wood pieces carefully. If they stick, rub again to make sure the foil covers the entire dot.

A twine bow and some washi tape finish off the card.

About Tami Sanders

Ink, paper and glue are a few of my favorite things. I enjoy working with a variety of mediums, and don’t really have a set “style”; fresh, graphic or vintage, I like them all.  Likewise, I also find creating a variety of projects challenging. I design scrapbook pages, cards, mixed media projects, altered books, jewelry and more. I have taught scrapbooking and paper crafting classes locally as well as at regional and national conventions. Sharing the joy of inking and paper crafting feeds my creative soul. You can usually find me scouring estate sales and flea markets on the weekends hunting for unique tidbits and trinkets to use in my classes and for my projects. I'm excited to be rejoining the Clearsnap Design Team. I am fortunate to have worked with Clearsnap for over 10 years.
