February Color Inspiration Challenge

by | February 1st, 2015 | 3

On the first of every month, we post an inspiration challenge here on our blog. Inspired fashion, trends, and a few inkpads, we build a collage to inspire you to create something during the month. This month’s challenge is all about a emotion and relaxation:

FEB 2015 Color Inspiration Challenge - Clearsnap

The soft lavendars and airy blues are contrasted by metallics and warm gold in this pretty yet powerful color inspiration collage. Let’s have a look at what our team created in response to this palette:

Jennifer Priest shares how to create a foil design with a stencil on this “You’re Cool” card, fit for a guy:

Jennifer says,”You don’t need costly machines to do foiling. You can use Clearsnap’s Design Adhesives with Designer Foils for a foiled design. But I also found a way to use glue and a stencil to create a custom foiled design. You’re gonna be doing this on all of your cards once you see how easy it is!”

Steph Ackerman shares a fun number themed card, again using stencils but with ink!:

Steph says, “I needed a birthday card for my son who is turning 20 (ack!) so I instinctively grabbed ColorBox® Art Screens – Numeric and Jumbled.  Art Screens are perfect for creating your own unique backgrounds.  Wanting to stay within the blue family I chose ColorBox® Archival Dye Ink in Mist.  Mist was the perfect color to create a truly masculine card.”

What did you think? Will you try these techniques and this fab color combo? We’d love to see what you create – just leave a link in the comments to your project, on your blog or on Pinterest for a chance to be featured on our Facebook Page!
