This one is easy, trendy and perfect for creating your handmade valentine’s day cards and more. And the best part is you can use any ink medium you already have on hand. So here is a closer look at these fragmented Valentines…

Fragmented-Background-IZINK-Clearsnap-Colorbox-Valentine-January-2015-Sabrina-Alery-2This cool technique looks great on it’s own and would make some really great DIY art to hang on your walls. With these two cards, I took the technique one step further by masking off a couple areas to leave a heart shaped design.

I used three shades from the new Colorbox® for Doodlebug Designs Petal Point® in Fun. It’s easy to apply and blend the ink to the small areas with a thin paintbrush.

Fragmented-Background-IZINK-Clearsnap-Colorbox-Valentine-January-2015-Sabrina-Alery-4I really like the larger background showing the fragmented colors also. These colors were painted on with IZINK. I used two of the new neon shades – Gentian and Lotus, as well as  Opaline, Topaz and Geranium.

Here’s a look at how you can try the fragmented technique out for yourself. It really is so simple!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

About Sabrina Alery

Hello! I am so delighted to be working with Clearsnap for another term! My family and I live in rural Madison County, Iowa in an old farm house. We have 4 kids under age 7, 3 roosters roaming in the yard and a black cat too. Playing with ink, color and stamping has become a great passion over the last several years. Sneaking in a couple hours of inky time each day during nap time helps keep me sane! I love finding new ways to use products and sharing them with you here on the Clearsnap blog and on my personal blog space. You can also find my work in the pages of several craft and card making magazines. In additional to paper crafting, I love to cook, sew, garden and spend time outdoors unplugged.
