Getting creative with ColorBox Creative Cards by Suzanne Austin

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here to share a super easy card that I’ve created using ColorBox® Creative Cards.

Creative Cards Collage

These are our newly available Creative Cards.  For the card I’ve created, I used the “Handwritten” set.  Yes, SET!  These lovely cards also come with envelopes!  I personally have an eternal card making block, but these versatile designs provide that initial “jump” of inspiration when I need to create.

creative_card_clearsnap_Suzanne_AustinThe “Handwritten” design was a perfect start for this “shabby” card.  I could’ve inked the background of this card or distressed it, but I chose to simply cover it with a piece of vellum to tone down the design; I love how the script still shows through.

creative_card_clearsnap1_Suzanne_AustinOnce the vellum is secured, I began my layers by haphazardly ripping a piece of deli paper and embossing it with a butterfly design using Top Boss® Embossing Inkpad and ColorBox® Donna Salazar Mix’d Media Inx Embossing Powder in “Jasmine.”    The heart has also been inked and embossed in the same manner; the heart was aged a bit by edging it with ColorBox® Fluid Chalk Ink in “Creamy Brown.”   I added a few more embellishments and the card is completed!  Are you being creative with your cards today?  Thanks for dropping by!

About Suzanne Austin

Hi!  My name is Suzanne Austin.  I’m a SAHM of 3 kiddos living on the Gulf Coast in Alabama.  I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 17 years and counting!  I began scrapping shortly after the birth of our son, and like most haven’t looked back!  It wasn’t hard to become completely immersed in scrapbooking-the process, the art, the design-I am still in awe of the talent that’s showcased in this industry.  My style is pretty versatile (and still ever evolving), but I tend to lean toward the mixed-media and inky side of scrapping.  My motto: Just do it!  I love experimentation with new ideas and techniques. I tend jump in head first-no regrets. I love the enrichment (and therapy :D) this hobby has to lend.  I’m beyond excited to rub elbows with our talented Creative Team for yet another term!
