Hello! Tami here with April’s card sketch…
And here is the sample card I made using the sketch…
The card base was made from printed cardstock, but the other “printed papers” were made using the NEW! ColorBox® Blends by Eileen Hull and stencils….
ColorBox® Blends are a new and exciting way to get INKY! They hold more than 10 times the ink of a traditional inkpad and have a unique sponge applicator that lets you ink directly to your surface: paper, fabric, wood and MORE!
Here are a few hints for working with the NEW! ColorBox® Blends.
- The tight fitting caps keep your ink fresh; they pull off not screw off.
- Press applicator down firmly on a scrap of paper until ink starts to flow and fill sponge. Tap several times to spread ink.
- Dab or swirl applicator lightly on surface to apply ink, don’t press to hard especially when working on a rough surface or with a stencil to avoid damaging the applicator.
- When working on a porous surface like regular cardstock where ink is absorbed quickly, begin with a light application of ink, swirling to work the ink into the surface.
- Permanent when heat set!
Once my “printed papers” were made, it was time to finish the card. To add a little design interest, opposing corners were rounded using a large corner rounder. I added a baker’s twine bow to the sentiment. The 3/4 X 4 1/2 horizontal strip was embellished with washi tape and dovetailed at the end. A metal embellie provided the finishing touch.
Stamps: Birthday Sayings by Hero Arts, stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop, cardstock and metal embellie from Bo Bunny, washi tape from Doodlebug Designs, baker’s twine from The Twinery and Zip Dry Glue from Beacon Adhesives.

Tami- I love how you used the Blends! The colors are very soft and subtle (and my favorite palette!)- your card is perfect! Thanks for working with Blends :-)
Love the brooch and colors used!
